Meet Captain Derek Ems
Derek is a Colorado native who has had a passion for fishing since he could walk. While Derek was obtaining his degree in Environmental Studies, he developed a further appreciation for wild and healthy ecosystems. Guiding these wonderful places since 2015, Derek loves nothing more than to share his passion for the sport with others. The rivers, streams and lakes surrounding the four corners area are home to most of the guiding Derek does but for many years he has spent months of the winter in the Gulf of Mexico pursuing fish on the saltwater flats.This is what inspired Derek to get his Coast Guard captains license and start running charters on the world famous Louisiana marsh. Since starting his Louisiana operation in 2019 Derek has guided anglers of all skill levels successfully onto redfish and many other species. Whether you are an avid angler, or just being introduced to the sport, Derek plans each day specifically aimed at the unique goals of every angler.
